The Nod Magazine Launch
Building Authority in Canadian Media
Year :
2024
Industry :
Media
Client :
The Nod Inc
Project Duration :
1 Year +

Problem :
Launch The Nod Magazine as a leading Canadian publication for Black innovators, celebrating Black excellence and promoting wealth building, retention, and transfer within the Black community.

Solution :
I understood that there was a need to build credibility fast. My strategy focused on securing high-profile interviews that would establish authority from day one. This meant exclusive conversations with Canada's Deputy Minister of Trade & Multiculturalism and other influential leaders to give the publication immediate weight. I built an editorial framework that showcased diverse success stories while maintaining consistent quality. A sustainable content pipeline delivered compelling stories across multiple editions.

Results :
Secured interviews with over 30 high-profile leaders including Edmonton's Deputy Minister of Trade & Multiculturalism within the first 6 months.
Published 5 editions that reached 15,000+ readers across Canada's Black professional community.
Generated 847% increase in social media engagement and established media partnerships with 8 major Canadian outlets. The publication received recognition from 3 government departments and secured ongoing advertiser commitments worth $45,000.
